How difficult is it to get into Tulane?

Of the 27,936 students who applied to join Tulane’s Class of 2027, only 4,077 were admitted, yielding an acceptance rate of 14.6%. Roughly 51% of first year students were in the top 10% of their high school’s graduating class, while nearly 95% of students were in the top half of their high school’s graduating class. The average GPA of admitted first year students for the 2023-24 admissions cycle was 3.7. In terms of standardized testing, the 50th Percentile SAT Composite score was 1450 while the 50th Percentile ACT Composite score was 32.

What is the campus like at Tulane?

New Orleans is home to Mardi Gras, an incredible Jazz scene, and the famous Bourbon Street. Roughly 39% of Tulane students participate in one of the 25 fraternities and sororities. There are over 200 student clubs and organizations at Tulane, including student government, pre-professional and multicultural organizations, media groups, performance groups, service organizations, education organizations, honor societies, intramural sports, military groups, political groups organizations, and more!

Tulane offers four types of undergraduate housing: Residence Halls, Residential Learning Communities, Gender Affirming Housing, and Cluster Housing. All first-and second-year students are required to live in campus housing unless they meet specific exemption criteria.

Some Residence Halls are home to Residential Learning Communities (RLC’s), which are immersive spaces in which students learn together and participate in activities centered around a theme. RLCs are typically located on a specific floor(s) of a Residence Hall, where like-minded students live together and complete a TIDES course—a part of their core requirement—as a group. There are many different RLCs, such as Current, which is for first-year women interested in STEM, or Squad, which explores leadership and teamwork through the lens of school pride. If you are interested in joining an RLC, you must apply on the Housing Portal. There are supplemental questions necessary for each RLC application.

The Class of 2027 hails from 49 states and territories and 36 countries. with 8% of the class being international students, 9% from the Midwest, 2% from the Mountain West 28% from the Northeast, 14% from the Pacific West, 17% from the South Atlantic and 10% from theSouth Central region of the U.S.. Furthermore, 15% of the student population identifies at LGBTQ+ while 10% are first generation college students and 9% are Pell Grant recipients.
