College Admissions Counseling & Mentorship for High School Students

A High School Career Propelled by Purpose

Students excel in the college admissions process and beyond when they’re guided by a genuine sense of passion and purpose. Our mentorship is a long-term partnership, equipping students to follow a cohesive trajectory defined by authentic interests, leadership initiatives, and a highly differentiated academic profile. Through mentorship, students cultivate the curiosity, confidence, and character that make an applicant genuinely stand out.

Jane

DIRECTOR OF MENTORING

More than anything else, admissions officers are looking for students who are genuine, passionate, and curious—they want students who are who they say they are. Those characteristics are cultivated over time, through personal relationships with mentors who patiently invest in a student’s academic and personal growth to help them become the best version of themselves. Command is the only firm in the business doing anything like that.

Grade-by-Grade Guidance That Evolves with the Student

Confidence, narrative, and a genuine sense of self aren’t built overnight—they develop over time, which is why Command students meet weekly with their mentors from day one. Our customized support is tailored to each student’s lgoals, personalities, and needs. What follows is a deeply individualized experience that adapts to every turn while keeping students motivated and on track.

Students get to be students. Parents get to be parents. And we handle the rest.

GRADE
9
Early mentorship focuses on exploration and building strong habits. Students work with their mentors on setting goals weekly, developing executive functioning skills, exploring their interests, and setting a strong academic foundation.
GRADE
10
As students move into year two, exploration from freshman year begins to narrow — what started broad now gets curated toward genuine interests, going deeper rather than wider. We focus on developing passions and building students' academic hooks through independent projects, extracurriculars, and summer experiences chosen with intention, moving from participation to impact. This is when critical test prep begins, and our mentors provide personalized support as academic rigor increases.
GRADE
11
This is the most critical year for college preparation. During this stage, we guide students to build balanced college lists, finalize their summer activities, pursue leadership opportunities, secure standout letters of recommendation, and elevate their application profiles.
GRADE
12
Approaching senior year, mentorship evolves into comprehensive college application guidance, with direct support from a dedicated College Application Specialist. Students work with their mentor and CAS to finalize their college list, draft and refine essays, and prepare for interviews, while the whole team project-manages the process to keep every deadline on track. Together, they polish the student's narrative and present their best self in the application process.
